Texans vs Jaguars
All tailgaters pray for good weather, great food, strong libations and a home team win. The Pooch Punters Tailgate prayers came true at the first Monday Night Football game hosted by the Houston Texans. Bacon Wrapped Quail, Boudin and Jalapeno Sausage headlined the menu. Enough Snakebites, beer and other various libations were consumed to fill the Astrodome. And, the Houston Texans delivered a convincing victory, trashing the Jags 30 - 17.
Some old friends showed up to tailgate. The Mock Family attended their first tailgate of the year while Chrysan returned from her brief hiatus.

I think a few things come to mind when looking back at the PP's first MNF tailgate. (1) We are creatures of habit...the PP's attempted (and succeeded) in putting up the 10x20 tent in winds nothing short of hurricane force. Then someone wondered aloud...why put up the tent?...no sun to block. So, down came the tent. (2) What is it about MNF where the PP's feel the need to over-deliver when it came to the alcohol? According to my count (unofficial) their were approximately 10 different kinds of vodka, 3 different kinds of tequila and about 5 different kinds of beer....not that their is anything wrong with that. (3) I have to hand it to all the PP's who's energy, inginuity (mittens to fingerless gloves, strapping down the tent to the ice chests) and palets (bacon wrapped dove, pork tenderloins (thanks to all who touched my loins), jalapeno sausage and Frank's salsa plus the pork rines. (4) Finally, to the enthusiam displayed by all who attended. You can NEVER go wrong with good friends with a common cause...a TEXANS win! (except Tim who bet against them in Pick 5)
